Hizzan Hamid
Hizzan Hamid is a founding partner of Founding Partner, Catenary Capital and was formerly Chief Executive Officer of KWEST, the real estate investment and development arm of Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP). He brings over 18 years of experience in real estate investment and business development across Malaysia, the UK, and Australia.
Prior to KWEST, Hizzan was Executive Director at Gamuda Land, where he led the company’s entry into the UK real estate market through the acquisition of 35A Commercial Road in London and facilitated the acquisition of a mixed-use development site at 272 Normanby Road in South Melbourne, Australia. Earlier in his career, he heads the Business Development and Acquisition unit at Sunway Property from 2013 to 2019 where he made 9 transactions with total project GDV of MYR 13 billion. Under Malaysia Property Incorporated (MPI), a division set up under the Economic Planning Unit, he facilitated a joint venture between Mitsui Fudosan and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad to develop a premium outlet mall at KLIA.
Over the course of his career, Hizzan has transacted over MYR 3 billion in real estate assets across multiple geographies. In his recent role, he oversees KWEST investments totalling approximately MYR 800 million. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Bolton and a Master’s degree in Finance from Taylor’s University.
