Jian Wah Lock
Jian Wah Lock is a Founding Partner, Catenary Capital with over 20 years of experience in real estate investment and development. His career spans portfolio and fund management, investment sourcing and execution, asset and project management, and business development across global real asset platforms.
He has held senior roles at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, CIMB–Mapletree Joint Venture, M&G, PGIM, and JTC Corporation, and has played leadership roles in building institutional real asset portfolios and organisational investment capabilities. His experience also includes investments in infrastructure assets under a consistent real assets investment framework.
Jian Wah has managed global portfolios comprising approximately USD 800 million in retail assets and USD 7.7 billion in mixed-use and residential developments, as well as private real asset funds, PIPEs, and SPVs exceeding USD 10 billion in equity value. His experience includes managing one of the largest private Asian real estate retail fund series, delivering major mixed-use developments, and structuring Shariah-compliant real estate investments in Malaysia.
He holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and Stanford University, and is both a CFA Charterholder and a Certified Financial Risk Manager.
